The Extended Visual Line of Sight (EVLOS) assessment allows remote pilots to extend the proximity of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) beyond their direct vision. This assessment is designed to assess your application of knowledge and commercial operating procedures.

Our instructors will examine your drone piloting skills as well as technical knowledge of your aircraft during the EVLOS assessment flight.
All successful candidates will receive RUAS' endorsement of training, and permission for EVLOS is reserved to the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) through the submission of a Volume 3 Operational Safety Case (OSC) application. Please contact us for further guidance and information regarding applications to the CAA for Volume 3 Operational Safety Cases.
This assessment day is suitable for both fixed wing and multi-rotor drone systems weighing up to 20kgs. Please note, you will need to have at least one other person attending with you for the EVLOS assessment.
Please note that during the EVLOS assessment flight, EVLOS will be simulated. This allows RUAS to successfully evaluate the procedural and safety elements of your EVLOS flight.
